Technical capacities and institutional commitment

Livestock keepers, veterinary services and animal trypanosomosis control programs often use outdated or sub-optimal tools, have limited access to the latest technology and need additional training and capacity building opportunities. Insufficient resources are allocated to animal trypanosomosis control due to low awareness among politicians, donors and national authorities. COMBAT, through the development of knowledge, tools and strategies, will build capacity, and raise awareness of animal trypanosomosis at all levels, to have a real and lasting impact on disease control on the ground.
