The objective of ethics within COMBAT is to ensure that all ethical considerations for activities raising ethical issues, including scientific integrity, are taken into account during the implementation of the project.

The COMBAT project will continuously address ethical issues in accordance with H2020 standards. This will include:

• applications for appropriate approvals, such as those from institutional or regional ethics committees or focal points on access and benefit sharing and the Nagoya Protocol1

• strict compliance with the rules governing personal data and their processing2

• consideration of the impact of the project's research on health, safety and the environment and gender

• continuous adaptation and revision of ethical considerations throughout the project if needed
