General description

The IES UMR CNRS 5214 (Institut d’Electronique et des Systèmes) laboratory is a mixed research unit CNRS / University of Montpellier (UM) in Montpellier. The laboratory focuses on the study of novel electronic, sensors and photonic components and devices, for various domains such the defense, energy, the environment and for biomedical technology. For the project, the research team Material, Micro-sensors and Applications (M2A) will be involved with two associate professors (Arnaud VENA, Brice SORLI). The M2A team focuses on the design of novel sensors and devices in particular for diagnostic health, food security. The members of the team have a broad field of expertise such material science, sensors/biosensors, electromagnetic simulation, flexible electronics, wireless sensing, RFID.

 Role in the project

The aforementioned members of the team are well prepared to generate results for the WP2 activity of the project entitled “Development of an AT antigen capture RFID test”, they will focus their work on the development of antigen capture RFID sensor dedicated for diagnosis of animal trypanosomosis. This work will include the design and simulation of RFID part (with and without sensor), the sensor fabrication and its characterization, the  RFID Sensor communication, prototypes fabrication, the measurement reliability (sensitivity and specificity of the test).
